"The first time I can remember writing anything even remotely creative was at a weekend away with my school's year group at eleven years old. Poems about creepy trees and gravestones seemed to be favoured at the time. I peaked when I was seventeen, writing a note to excuse me from religious worship sessions at college - the best bit was the signature, but even that was plagiarized from my mother.

For the most part I write because I enjoy it. Sometimes it will be a way of purging myself, other times it will help me to work my way through a problem, usually it will just be because inspiration struck and I had to do something about it. But I always enjoy it.

Ultimately, it's nice if someone enjoys reading what I've written, but that's not why I do it. There's only one piece of advice I've ever heeded when it came time to put pen to paper - "It doesn't matter if no one else likes it, so long as you do.""

Stories:

A Girl Alone
"A little girl sits in the corner, her knees drawn up tight towards her, the polished wood floor hard and unyielding against her resting body... "

Angel
"The salty drops caressed her cheeks, burning their path across her flesh while her head haunted her with images of days past...."

A Stream Of Consciousness
"It's not like I asked for it. I didn't exactly go up to him and say, "Please will you crap on me as though a hippopotamus was flying overhead?"...."

Circle
"Janet, where are you going with that censer?...."

Darkness
"She stood, unmoving except for her eyes. They followed his every move intently, a flash of the most intense yellow glimmering as the moonlight washed over her milky skin..."

Forget Me Not
"Forget me not. In your face, you can't forget. Shrieking. Screaming. A banshee let loose not inches away... "

Fragile Grace
"Satin skin, paper thin in its luminescence, taunts fingers as they dance their way across her warm cheek... "

Guilty
""Look," he said. "You've got to believe me."..."

Heart's Desire
""I can't do this anymore." Her words had left her before she'd even realised she was going to speak..."

Heavenly
"The rug lay atop the grass, flowing over the contours of the earth, accentuating her perfect imperfections as life hummed below the surface...."

Monkey See, Monkey Do
"Even when the monkey died they never invited us round..."

Restless Souls
"She was in no rush to return home. Her arms full of shopping, she made the journey last as long as possible..."

That's Life
"The milk’s turned sour, the cheese has mould, and the leftover bolognaise sauce has fur growing on it...."
