"I began my writing as a precocious brat. I've been writing since the age of two - I kid you not. I taught myself to write words after my parents did the alphabet thing with me. I would put random letters on a piece of paper and run exictedly to my mum asking "Is that a word?"
Moving into school and being encouraged to write longer things called sentences I then went on to string them together and whole phrases were born. Unfortunately I still haven't got the hang of correct use of punctuation and paragraphs. My teachers were convinced I'd be a famous author of some kind. Sadly, they were very much mistaken.
At primary school I won the poetry competion cup. I've always preferred the short, quick and easy route so poems became song lyrics. I do write some prose but the stuff you find here on FreakWrite has been mainly written as exercises at University or on short courses. The lyrics I'm currently engaged in are being fuelled by mental illness, beer, Marilyn Manson and Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
In an attempt to fight the onset of middle age my hair is now pink but this too may pass."
